The Danish “Restaurant of the Year 2011”, Henne Kirkeby Kro with chef Allan Poulsen wins The Nordic Prize 2011.

This years prize was presented at restaurant Grefsenkollen in Oslo at 5 February by the first nordic Bocuse d’Or-winner, Bent Stiansen.

The Nordic Prize 2010


Previous Bocuse d'Or-winner Mathias Dahlgren wins ”The Nordic Prize” at a Gallaevent february 7th taking place at Falsled Kro

Falsled Kro was fully booked for the prizeevent and galladinner for the award The Nordic Prize ( Best restaurant in the nordic countries 2011 :”Matsalen,” since 2007 located inside Stockholms Grand Hôtel.

41 aged chef Mathias Dahlgren and his **starred Michelin-restaurant won the prize in tight competition with 4 other nominees, danish Henne Kirkeby Kro, norwegian Oscarsgate, icelandic Dill and finnish Chez Dominique.

Behind the award is Den Danske Spiseguide & other gastronomic focused juries organized i all over the 5 nordic countries each with a competent jury counting 30 members. They have made their final votings in the autumn 2010.

”The jury find that all facets regarding dining and wining, utmost welcoming atmosphere and service during a meal is outstanding. Also the fact that the cef is really visible at all tables and giving the visitors personal attendance is a nother important landmark for the personality behind the person” says the secretary of the jury Bent Christensen.

”It is of course a great honour at receive this prize in a time where nordic gastrronomy and nordics cooks have alle the worlds eyes watching us latest at the Bocuse d’Or worldchampionship for cooks had 5 nordic chefs between the 7 first. Also to follow Noma who won The Nordic Prize last year is a fine feeling”

As a visible sign of the honour a sculpture made of the dansish artist Lisbeth van Deiurs was given Mtahiar Dahlgren of an icon in norwegian gastronomy, mr Eyvind Hellström, former **Starred chef at Bagatelle, Oslo.

The Galla dinner was named ALMANAK – menu and it was a manifest of the Fine kitchen of Falsled Kro and in hands of chef Per Hallundbæk, former chef at Engögaard, Norway.
